A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) allows a group of hosts that are not connected to the same switch to communicate as if they were on the same broadcast domain. If VLAN is disabled, all traffic tagged with a VLAN ID coming in from the wired side is dropped. If the VLAN is enabled then it is forwarded. This article explains how to configure and assign a VLAN ID on the SPA122 VoIP device.

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Network Setup > Advanced Settings > VLAN. The VLAN page opens:
Step 2. Click the Enabled radio button to allow the VLAN packets to pass between the wired and wireless interfaces that are on the same VLAN.
Step 3. Enter the desired VLAN ID number in the VLAN ID field. The default value is 1.
Note: The VLAN ID can be any number from 1 to 4094.
Step 4. Click Submit. The changes are configured and the device is updated.
