A backup of the configuration is done to save the current settings and implement them after an upgrade. Restoring the configuration can help resolve issues from recent configuration changes without completely resetting the device to factory defaults. In case of an error during a change, the administrator can restore the previous configuration by uploading a backup configuration file. It is recommended to backup the current configuration before restoring it. Backup configurations and settings can be restored at any time. This article explains how to backup and restore the configuration on the SPA100 Series Phone Adapter.

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > Config Management > Backup Configuration. The Backup Configuration page opens:
Step 2. Click the Backup button to save the configuration information of the ATA. When the dialog box appears, choose a location where you want to save the .cfg file on your computer.
Note: It is recommended that you rename the file with a name that includes the date and time of when you did the backup.

Step 2. Click Choose File and locate the .cfg file (backup file) to restore the device configurations from.
Step 3. Click Restore to restore the settings from the selected file. The administrator is taken back to the login page after the successful restoration of the device.
