This article explains how to configure ring patterns in regional voice parameters on the SPA 100 Series Analog Telephone Adapter. The distinctive ring determines the sound a phone will make when a certain ringer is chosen. This setting helps you customize ring tone patterns for different numbers and is useful for adjusting ring cadences.

Step 1. Log into the Phone Configuration Utility and choose Voice > User 1 or User 2. The User 1 page opens:
Note: The distinctive ring patterns configured on User 1 are similar to the configurations to be made on User 2.
Step 2. Enter a value for the Ring1 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 1. The default is 60(2/4).
Step 3. Enter a value for the Ring2 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 2. The default is 60(.8/.4,.8/4).
Step 4. Enter a value for the Ring3 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 3. The default is 60(.4/.2,.4/.2,.8/4).
Step 5. Enter a value for the Ring4 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 4. The default is 60(.3/.2,1/.2,.3/4).
Step 6. Enter a value for the Ring5 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 5. The default is 1(.5/.5).
Step 7. Enter a value for the Ring6 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 6. The default is 60(.2/.4,.2/.4,.2/4).
Step 8. Enter a value for the Ring7 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 7. The default is 60(.4/.2,.4/.2,.4/4).
Step 9. Enter a value for the Ring8 Cadence field. This is the cadence script for distinctive ring 8. The default is 60(0.25/9.75).
Step 10. Click Submit to save the changes.
