System summary allows the user to know the basic information about the access points such as hardware model description, software version and system up time so that it will be easy to find a solution in case of device failure or malfunction of the device. Network Statistics allows the user to view basic information about the services operated by the access point and the protocol that the service uses. This article helps to view the network statistics status and helps to view the system summary status on the Cisco WAP121 and WAP321 access points.
• WAP121
• WAP321
• 1.0.3.4
Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Status and Statistics > System Summary. The System Summary page opens:
The following information is displayed under the System Summary area:
• PID VID — Displays the product identifier (PID) and version identifier (VID) of the access point.
• Serial Number — Displays the serial number of the access point.
• Base MAC Address — Displays the MAC address of the access point.
• Firmware Version — Displays the current firmware version of the access point.
• Firmware MD5 Checksum — Displays the Message Digest 5 (MD5) check sum of the current firmware. This checksum is the hash value that is created after the firmware upgrade finishes. This is created to check with the checksum hash value provided by the website from which the firmware was downloaded. If the hash values match, it means that the firmware was downloaded successfully. The MD5 number is used to verify the integrity of the firmware.
• Host Name — Displays the host name assigned to the device.
• System Uptime — Displays the time in days, hours and minutes the access point has been in continuous operation since the last reboot.
• System Time — Displays the current system time.
• Power Source — Displays the power source of the device, for example if device power source is switch then it shows as PoE.
The following information is displayed under the TCP/UDP Service Table:
• Service — Displays the available name of the service.
• Protocol — Displays the transport layer protocol used by the service.
• Local IP Address — Displays the IP address of the networking device that corresponds to the connected service. The value, All, indicates that any IP address on the device can use this service.
• Local Port — Displays the local port number of the service assigned. Port number is used to receive connection requests.
• Remote IP Address — Displays the IP address of the remote host that corresponds to the connected service. The value, All, signifies that all remote hosts in that network can use the service.
• Remote Port — Displays the local port number of the remote host that is associated to the service.
• Connection State — Displays the connection state of the protocol that is used by the service. The connection states of TCP are:
– Listen — Indicates that the server is ready to accept connection requests, it wait to detect connection request.
– Active — Indicates that a connection session is active and packets are being transmitted and received.
– Established — Indicates that a connection has been established between the client and the server.
– Time Wait — Indicates the wait time for the remote host to receive the acknowledgement sent by the server for the connection termination request.
Note: For UDP, only connections in the Active state are displayed.
Step 2. (Optional) Click Refresh to refresh the screen and display the most current information.
