The System Settings page allows you to add location and network identity information about the WAP. This allows anyone with access to the WAP to find out where the device is and who to contact if they have problems or need additional configuration done on the WAP. This article explains how to configure the System Settings page on the WAP551/WAP561.

Step 1. Log in to the web configuration utility and choose Administration > System Settings. The System Settings page opens:
Step 2. Enter a host name for the device in the Host Name field. This is an administratively assigned name and is not the SSID (network name that is broadcasted as a wireless network). Host Names can only include letters, digits, and hyphens. The default Host Name is "wap" followed by the last six hexadecimal digits of the MAC address of the WAP.
Step 3. (Optional) Enter information about a contact person for the WAP in the System Contact field. This can be a phone number or an email address. The System Contact must be 0 to 255 characters long and can include spaces and special characters.
Step 4. (Optional) Enter the physical location of the WAP in the System Location field. The System Location must be 0 to 255 characters long and can include spaces and special characters.
Step 5. Click Save to save the settings.
