A. This depends on the software version on the VCS.
Software version X4.0 or laterThe VCS has two options available from the Call routed mode setting (VCS Configuration > Calls):
Always: the VCS will always route the call signaling
Optimal: if possible, the VCS will remove itself from the call signaling path, which may mean the call does not consume a call licence
The default is Always.
Software version X3.1 or earlierThe VCS will always work in Call Routed Mode, i.e. it will always take the call signaling. This is not a configurable option.
