Are links and pipes on the VCS one-way or two-way?

Q. Are links and pipes on the VCS one-way or two-way?

A. Links on a VCS are used to create routing connections between a subzone at one end and another subzone or zone at the other end. Each end of the link is known as a 'node'. Pipes are applied to links to limit the bandwidth available between the two nodes.

All links and pipes are two-way. For example, if you have a link that has been configured with Node 1 as HQ Subzone and Node 2 as Branch Subzone, this will mean that traffic can flow from the HQ Subzone to the Branch Subzone as well as from the Branch Subzone to the HQ Subzone. Any pipes applied to this link will affect bandwidth in both directions.

To view a list of all links configured on the VCS including any pipes that may have been applied to each link, go to the Links page (VCS configuration > Bandwidth > Links). You can create new links and edit existing links from this page.

To view a list of all pipes configured on the VCS, and to create new pipes and edit existing pipes, go to the Pipes page (VCS configuration > Bandwidth > Pipes).
