Perform these steps to register an ATA with Cisco Unified CM.
Download the ATA firmware file ata_03_02_04_sccp_090202_a.zip from the Cisco Software Download (registered customers only) section.
Now, you need to create the ATADefault.cnf.xml file. Copy this configuration into a text editor and save it as ATADefault.cnf.xml. Be sure to specify the IP address of your TFTP server where needed.
<device> <devicePool> <callManagerGroup> <members> <member priority="0"> <callManager> <ports> <ethernetPhonePort>2000</ethernetPhonePort> </ports> <processNodeName>IP ADDRESS OF YOUR TFTP SERVER</processNodeName> </callManager> </member> </members> </callManagerGroup> </devicePool> <loadInformation>ATA030204SCCP090202A.zup</loadInformation> <vendorConfig> <videoCapability>1</videoCapability> <spanToPCPort>0</spanToPCPort> </vendorConfig> </device>
Install any Cisco supported TFTP server onto your PC.
Note: Ensure this PC is accessible from the ATA.
Copy the firmware file and .xml file into the tftp root directory.
Access ATA via the Web browser at http://IP address of the ATA 186/dev.
Specify the tftp server address path in the Tftp URL field.
Specify the Cisco Unified CM address in the CA0orCM0 field.
Click apply for the changes to take effect.
There is currently no verification procedure available for this configuration.
This section provides information you can use to troubleshoot your configuration.
The issue is you cannot add a second line on Cisco Unified CM to ATA 187.
ATA 187 auto-registers to Cisco Unified CM with two MAC addresses. One is the MAC address from its back cover, the other one is shifted MAC (for example, MAC is AABBCCDDEEFF, and shifted MAC is BBCCDDEEFF01 ). In order to resolve this issue, you need to use the shifted MAC to provide the second port of a DN.
