Special Note Regarding the AP802

Introduction

Starting May 1, 2016, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) restricted distribution of new -A domain access points in the United States. A new -B domain has been introduced to comply with the new FCC regulations. Cisco has released new AP SKUs for the -B domain - the following table shows in which software releases -B domain support is introduced.

Special Note Regarding the AP802

The AP802 (embedded in various 800 series ISR models) is not available in a -B SKU. 800 series ISRs with -A SKU AP802s sold after May 1, 2016, are compliant with FCC regulations (and only support the UNII-1 and UNII-3 bands.)
