    Introduction

    This document describes, as of Sept. 2022, Cisco manufactures APs that cannot join wireless controllers that run software released prior to Aug. 2022.

    Background Information

    Some C9105AXI, C9105AXW, C9120AXI, C9120AXE, C9130AXI, C9130AXE access points that were manufactured in September 2022, or later, cannot run any software released prior to August 2022.  See Field Notice 72424.

    Affected Access Points

    These AP models (Product identifiers, or PIDs) and the Version identifiers (VIDs), cannot join controllers that run Cisco software released prior to August 2022:

    • C9105AXI - VID 04 or later
    • C9105AXW - VID 02 or later
    • C9120AXI, C9120AXE - VID 07 or later
    • C9130AXI, C9130AXE - VID 03 or later

    Not all regulatory domains are affected; some PIDs in some specific domains are built only with the earlier VIDs.
