System Requirements
This section describes the system requirements for Release 12.2(4)YG and includes the following sections:
•Determining the Software Version
System Requirements
This section describes the system requirements for Release 12.2(4)YG and includes the following sections:
•Determining the Software Version
•Upgrading to a New Software Release
Memory Requirements
Table 1 provides the memory requirements for the Cisco IOS feature sets supported by Cisco IOS Release 12.2(4)YG on the SOHO 76, SOHO 77, and SOHO 77H routers.
Hardware Supported
Cisco IOS Release 12.2(4)YG supports the following Cisco routers:
•SOHO 70 series routers:
–SOHO 76 Routers
–SOHO 77 Routers
–SOHO 77H Routers
For descriptions of SOHO 70 series router hardware features and supported modules, see the hardware installation guides, configuration and command reference guides, and additional documents specific to SOHO 70 Series Routers, which are available on Cisco.com and the Documentation CD at the following location:

For general information about upgrading to a new software release, see Software Installation and Upgrade Procedures located at: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/130/upgrade_index.shtml.
Feature Sets
The Cisco IOS software is packaged in feature sets consisting of software images—depending on the platform. Each feature set contains a specific set of Cisco IOS features. Release 12.2(4)YG supports the same announced feature sets as Releases 12.2(4)T, but Release 12.2(4)YG includes the IP Firewall image and optimizes memory for the SOHO 70 Series Routers. Since Release 12.2(4)YG contains no new features or functionality, a feature-to-image-mapping table is not included in these Cisco IOS release notes. For a list of the images included in Release 12.2(4)YG, see the "Memory Requirements" section.
New and Changed Information
Release 12.2(4)YG contains no new features or functionality. The soho70-y1-mz and soho70-oy1-mz images provide optimized memory for the SOHO 70 Series Routers.
For information regarding the features supported in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(4)T, refer to the Cross-Platform Release Notes and New Feature Documentation links at the following location on Cisco.com and the Documentation CD:

Important Notes
Several virtual private dial-up network (VPDN) configuration, show, and debug commands that run from EXEC mode are no longer necessary for Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE). These commands are removed from the software and the show and debug commands are replaced by new commands as listed below:
•The following commands are no longer necessary for configuring a PPPoE client on the router:
–vpdn enable
–vpdn group number
•The command clear pppoe command replaces the command clear vpdn tunnel pppoe.
•The following VPDN show commands do not work for PPPoE client sessions and are replaced by the command show pppoe session:
–show vpdn tunnel
–show vpdn session
–show vpdn
•The following VPDN debug commands do not work for PPPoE client sessions and are replaced by the command debug pppoe:
–debug vpdn pppoe-event
–debug vpdn pppoe-error
–debug vpdn pppoe-packet
–debug vpdn pppoe-data
For configuration information, see the Configuration Note for the Cisco SOHO 76 and SOHO 77 Routers publication at the following location on Cisco.com and the Documentation CD-ROM:

Caveats
Caveats describe unexpected behavior in Cisco IOS software releases. Severity 1 caveats are the most serious caveats, severity 2 caveats are less serious, and severity 3 caveats are the least serious of these three severity levels.
Caveats in Cisco IOS Releases 12.2 and 12.2 T are also in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(4)YG. For information on caveats in Cisco IOS Release 12.2, see Caveats for Cisco IOS Release 12.2. For information on caveats in Cisco IOS Release 12.2 T, see Caveats for Cisco IOS Release 12.2 T. These two documents list severity 1 and 2 caveats and are located on Cisco.com and the Documentation CD.
Note If you have an account with Cisco.com, you can also use the Bug Toolkit to find select caveats of any severity. To reach the Bug Toolkit, log in toCisco.com and click Service & Support: Technical Assistance Center: Tool Index: Bug Toolkit. Another option is to go to http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/launch_bugtool.pl.
Caveats for Release 12.2(4)YG
This section describes possibly unexpected behavior by Release 12.2(4)YG. Only severity 1 through 3 caveats are included.
Miscellaneous
CSCdu00267
When checking the firewall audit for TFTP, the TFTP data session responder log for the number of bytes transferred is not shown correctly. Note that the feature works—only logging is affected.
CSCdx52642
When PPPoE dial on demand is configured, a SOHO 76 or SOHO 77 router unexpectedly reloads while trying to remove the dialer interface from dialer pool 1.
CSCdx53134
The OAMF5 Segment CC feature does not work on SOHO 76 or SOHO 77 routers. Although the command seems to be accepted, it does not appear in the running configuration. No segment CC cells are sent and no debug output is displayed. When enabling segment CC on a peer, the router unexpectedly reloads after receiving the CC cell.
CSCdx66954
When you configure OAM loopback on a Cisco router using the command oam-pvc manage, the PVC goes down after receiving AIS/RDI cells from the peer, but does not come up again after receiving OAM loopback cells. To work around this problem and make the PVC come up, for the ATM interface enter the command shutdown followed by the command no shutdown.
