Virtual Private LAN Services
The Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS) feature allows Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks to provide multipoint Ethernet LAN services, also known as Transparent LAN Services (TLS). All customer sites in a VPLS appear to be on the same LAN, even though those sites might be in different geographic locations. Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SXH introduces VPLS support on the Cisco 6500 series routers.
