The Field Area Network (FAN) Design and Implementation Guide defines a validated reference topology as the recommended architecture. Figure 4-1 depicts the solution topology based on the FAN reference topology.

Table 4-1 lists the components used to create the solution topology.

• Component—Lists the unique identifier used to refer to the listed component.
• Software Type—Describes the type of code running on the component
• Product/Model—Lists the product name and model, if applicable
• Software Image—Lists the software image name, if applicable
• Software Version—Lists the software version that was validated during testing of the reference topology
