Nexus 9000 and ASR 1000 Template and Service Chain Enhancements

This feature allows you to apply a custom template on Leaf Switches and VNFs or PNFs.

The custom template is available for service chain, half chains, stiching chains, end to end chains and gateways for vnf-profile and pnf-profile.

Enable/disable Monitor on ESC

• In the plan status graph, when you click on any VNF, it opens a pop up that has settings icon on the header.

• Settings menu has the following options along with the recovery options:

  • Enable Monitor on ESC

  • Disable Monitor on ESC

• When you click on Enable Monitor on ESC and Disable Monitor on ESC options, a pop up appears asking for confirmation.

• Cancel button in the confirmation pop up cancels the action.

• Ok button in the confirmation pop up issues the selected action.

• When the action is successful, it shows a pop up with success message and by default, pop up closes in 5 seconds.

• When the action fails, it shows error message in the pop up and the pop up remains open until you close it.

Monitoring VNF

This feature allows you to show a list of VLAN ID and ID-Pool that are associated with the VNF created.

View Configuration Details for Resource Pools

The GUI has been enhanced to display the configuration details of existing ID pools and IP address pools under Configuration > Global > IP Address Pool / ID Pool. When you enter the edit view of ID pools or IP address pools by clicking the pool name in in list view, additional details such as IP addresses are displayed in the right pane.

List View Enhanced with Edit Element Option

All the GUI elements have the option to toggle between the list view and card view. For GUI elements that have the list view option, click the element name in the list to open it in edit mode.

Example: From the homepage, navigate to Configuration > Global. Select IP Address Pool and toggle to view the address pools as a list. Click any item under the name column to enter the edit view of this address pool. This procedure applies to any UI element that has the list view option.

Bulk Import of VNF and PNF Configurations

This release enables you to import VNF and PNF configurations in bulk using the Import button under Configuration > Service Design > Virtual Services/Physical Services.

Joint Export of Service and Service Instance Configuration

You can now export the following configurations jointly:

• Virtual service and virtual service instance configuration

• Physical service and physical service instance configuration

To export these configurations jointly, navigate to Configuration > Service Catalog > Virtual Service Instance > Physical Service Instance and click the download icon on any of the instances displayed in card view.

Interface Drop-down field changed to Text Entry Field

In the Configuration > Site area, when you hover over and click the Edit/Add Provider Endpoints icon, the List View Endpoints and Add Endpoint buttons display. In the form that opens on clicking Add Endpoint, the Interface field drop-down menu has now changed to a text-entry field.

Export and Import Configurations

This feature lets you export configurations as XML files to create a backup of your configurations. Similarly, the feature also lets you reimport such configuration files. This way, you can continue to use your previous configuration even after the upgrading NSO or SAE core function pack.

• Bulk Export: The functionality to export configurations in bulk is available using the Export button for: Virtual and physical services, and service chains.

• Individual Export: You can export individual configurations for all components listed under the Service Design, Service Catalog, and Global tabs on the GUI through the card view selection for each of these.

  In addition, the functionality to export configurations individually is also available for endpoints, gateways, consumer and provider half chains, end-to-end chains, and stitched chains. This option is available under Site > Selected Tenant > Service Deployment.

• Individual Import: The functionality to import configurations individually using the Import button is available for the following:

  • Under Service Design: Physical Services, Virtual Services, Service Chains

  • Under Service Catalog: Catalog, Virtual Service Instance, Physical Service Instance, Service Chain Instance, Organization, and Server Profile

  • Under Global: IP Address Pool and ID Address Pool

  • Under Site > Selected Tenant > Service Deployment: Gateways, Consumer Half Chains, Provider Half Chains, End to End Chains, Stitched Chains

Device and Service State Notifications

This feature displays event notifications for devices and service state changes. The notifications come from Cisco Network Service Orchestrator (NSO).

List View

This feature lets you view the following in form of a list:

• Under Service Design: Virtual Services, Physical Services, Service Chains

• Under Global: IP Address Pools and ID Address Pools

• Under Service Catalog: All services

Prior to this release, all the components listed above could only be viewed as cards. From this release, you can toggle between Card View and List View.

Support for Custom Templates in Service Deployment

This feature lets you select custom templates for devices, endpoint gateways, and service chains at the time of service deployment.

View Infrastructure Topology

This feature provides the option to view the entire topology of your site in terms of connections between devices in the SAE site infrastructure.
