NVIDIA GRID Software
NVIDIA Virtual GPU technology will enable accelerated productivity across a wide range of users and applications. It provides knowledge workers with improved experience with office applications, browsers, high-definition video, including video conference like Zoom, Webex, and Skype. For creative and technical professionals, NVIDIA enables virtual access to the professional applications typically run on physical workstations, include CAD applications, or design applications such as Revit and Maya. It enables GIS apps like Esri ArcGIS Pro, Oil & Gas apps like Petrel, financial services apps like Bloomberg, healthcare apps like Epic, or manufacturing apps like CATIA, Siemens NX, and Solidworks to name a few. The NVIDIA GRID Software is the Software layer of the NVIDIA Virtual GPU Technology and can be purchased at Cisco for use on NVIDIA Virtual GPUs
There are 3 editions of NVIDIA GRID Software available that is targeted for 2 types of users:
● NVIDIA Virtual PC (vPC): software for the knowledge and business workers.
● NVIDIA Virtual Apps (vApps): software for the knowledge and business workers
● NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation (vWS): For creative and technical professionals such as engineers, architects, and designers.
Each edition can be purchased as either a Perpetual License with 5 years of NVIDIA SUMs (Support, Upgrade, and Maintenance) or a Term Subscription License (i.e., Terms are 1, 3, 4, 5 years).
Note: For Educational Users, there is also an Educational Edition of vWS. NVIDIA will require proof that you are an education End User. The Educational Edition is available as both a Perpetual Licenses and a Subscription License.
At Cisco, we have grouped the NVIDIA GRID Software based on the Cisco Server that the Software will be running on and Base Discount Category (BDC). Presently, there are 2 types of Cisco Servers and 2 Types of Base Discount Category and so you will see 4 categories of NVIDIA GRID Software based on the following Cisco Servers:
● UCS M6
● UCS M7
● HCI M6
● HCI M6
NVIDIA AI Enterprise Software
NVIDIA AI Enterprise (NVAIE) Software is the Software Layer of their Advanced AI Platform. NVIDIA AI Enterprise is an end-to-end, secure, cloud-native suite of AI software that enables organizations to solve new challenges while increasing operational efficiency. It accelerates the data science pipeline and streamlines the development and deployment for LLM, speech AI, recommenders, cybersecurity, medicine imaging, video analytics, route optimization and more. With an extensive library of full-stack software, including AI solution workflows, frameworks, pretrained models, and infrastructure optimization, the possibilities are endless. NVIDIA AI Enterprise’s tools and frameworks streamline and support every stage of the AI journey, from data prep and model training through inference, and deployment at scale. The end-to-end manageability for workload and infrastructure management is another enterprise-grade feature for maximized utilization of accelerated computing for running AI.
NVAIE is sold on a per-GPU basis. NVAIE can be purchased as either a Perpetual License with 5 years of NVIDIA Support or a Term Subscription License (i.e., Terms are 1, 3, 4, 5 years).
Both Perpetual and Subscription License can be purchased for either 8x5 NVIDIA Support or 24x7 NVIDIA Support. Also, if you initially purchased 8x5 NVIDIA Support & then want to convert to 24x7 NVIDIA Support, there is a special add-on PID that be purchased Ala-carte to take you from 8x5 NVIDIA Support to 24x7 NVIDIA Support.

How to Configure the NVIDIA Software License
Configuring NVIDIA AI Essential Software License
● In CCW, search for NV-AIE-LIC= PID and click on “Add”
● Click on “Select Options” to enter the configurator.
● Make at least one selection from either Standard or Education License Option.
● NVIDIA AIE License are available as Perpetual or Subscription Option.
● PIDs starting with NV-AIE-24X7 requires mandatory 24x7 Support option to be selected.
● If 24x7 Support is not required, then PIDs starting with NV-AIE-P or NV-AIE-S can be selected.
● Here Perpetual License: NV-AIE-24X7P-5S from Standard License Option is selected.
● It requires mandatory 24x7 Support option: NV-AIE-P-5Y to be selected.
● Similar rules apply on other 24x7 NV AIE Perpetual and Subscription PIDs.
● Here Perpetual License: NV-AIE-P-5S from Standard License Option is selected.
● It does not require mandatory 24x7 Support option to be selected and comes with 5 Year Basic Support
● NVIDIA AIE Licenses are also available under Standalone GPU Configuration.
● Select GPU -> License.
