Introduction to this Document

This document provides information about the Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul (URWB) mode of operation for the Cisco IEC6400 Edge Compute Appliance. IEC6400 acts as the gateway in a URWB network and it uses the URWB technology with Cisco UCS C220 M6 Rack Server.

This document describes the new features, limitations, and troubleshooting steps, in addition to providing recommended configurations, caveats, and information on how to obtain support and documentation.

What's New in Release 1.1.0

This table lists the new features in IEC6400 gateway release 1.1.0:

Feature Name

Description

IW Monitor Management

You can configure the gateway to send data to IW Monitor, which then uses this data to track important performance statistics and metrics. For more information, see the chapter IW Monitor Management.

Layer 2 Mesh Transparency

This feature allows you to forward the non-IPv4 Layer 2 protocols through the gateway. You can create a list of allowed Ethernet II protocols for traffic forwarding, and manage the list by adding or removing Ethertypes from the Ethernet filter list. For more information, see the chapter Layer 2 Mesh Transparency.

Multipath Operation

This feature allows you to enable and manage the Multipath Operation (MPO) on the gateway. MPO duplicates critical traffic to mobile devices to increase the reliability of the wireless network. For more information, see the chapter Multipath Operation.

URWB Telemetry Protocol

This feature allows you to enable and manage telemetry export from the gateway. It exports telemetry data in default and detailed report formats at regular intervals. For more information, see the chapter URWB Telemetry Protocol.

Caveats

Caveats describe unexpected behaviour in Cisco releases in a product. Caveats that are listed as Open in a prior release is carried forward to the next release as either Open or Resolved.

Cisco Bug Search Tool

The Cisco Bug Search Tool allows partners and customers to search for software bugs based on product, release, and keyword, and aggregates key data such as bug details, product, and version. The BST is designed to improve the effectiveness in network risk management and device troubleshooting. The tool has a provision to filter bugs based on credentials to provide external and internal bug views for the search input. To view the details of a caveat, click the corresponding identifier.

Open Caveats

To know more information about the open caveats, see Cisco Bug Search Tool.

You can view the list of open caveats using the filter options in the tool.

Resolved Caveats

To know more information about the resolved caveats, see Cisco Bug Search Tool.

You can view the list of resolved caveats using the filter options in the tool.
