Cisco Unified Mobile Agent permet à un agent qui utilise n'importe quel téléphone RTPC (Public Switched Telephone Network) et une connexion VPN à large bande (pour les communications de bureau des agents) de fonctionner comme un agent situé dans un centre d'appels formel qui utilise un téléphone IP Cisco surveillé et contrôlé par l'interface JTAPI (Java Telephony Application Programming Interface) de Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Cisco Unified Mobile Agent permet aux administrateurs système de configurer les agents pour qu'ils utilisent la numérotation appel par appel ou une connexion clouée. En mode appel par appel, le téléphone de l'agent mobile est composé pour chaque appel entrant. À la fin de l'appel, le téléphone de l'agent mobile est déconnecté avant d'être prêt pour le prochain appel.
