Questo documento spiega e fornisce un esempio di come configurare il backup bridging con ISDN. Questa configurazione utilizza il metodo dell'interfaccia di backup per riconoscere che il collegamento primario è inattivo. Negli ambienti con bridging WAN, l'unica soluzione di backup DDR (dial-on-demand routing) disponibile è l'utilizzo di ISDN, in quanto il bridging su asincrono non è supportato.
Tenere presente che il bridging di una connessione ISDN tende a mantenere attiva la connessione per periodi molto lunghi, se non in modo permanente. Se la società telefonica (Telco) addebita i costi della connessione ISDN in base al tempo di connessione e il collegamento seriale rilevato rimane inattivo per un periodo di tempo molto lungo, il costo dell'operazione potrebbe essere molto elevato.
Nota: questa configurazione è valida per un sito e un canale B. Per più di un canale B, è necessario utilizzare i profili dialer. Consultare il documento sulla configurazione dei profili dialer da collegare mediante configurazione ISDN.
