The International Center for Digital Transformation and Digital Skills (DT&S), a collaboration between Cisco, the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Ministry of Digital Governance, and the Ministry of Development and Investments, recently had the pleasure of hosting representatives from 13 peripheral news agencies. The visit was organized during the three-day conference and general assembly of the Association of Balkan News Agencies - Southeastern Europe (ABNA-SE).
The guests were introduced to the strategic objectives of the DT&S Center by its executives, which include fostering innovation, accelerating digital transformation, enhancing digital skills, and promoting digital culture. The Cisco-supported center is home to teams who are developing practical solutions using innovative technologies, in collaboration with local partners, startups, and academic institutions to a wide variety of economic and social challenges faced by the Greek public sector and private businesses alike.
In addition to this, the visitors were given an overview of the cutting-edge digital solutions offered by the center. The Center's strategic location makes it accessible not only from Greece but also from the Balkans and Southeastern Europe, promoting regional engagement and collaboration.
This recent interaction underscores the center’s commitment to sharing knowledge and innovations not just within Greece but across the Balkans and Southeastern Europe. The visit was held in conjunction with the Cisco and DT&S Center's sponsorship of the conference themed "The Role of Information in the New Balkan Reality". The event featured the participation of key figures, including European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas, diplomats, academics, and representatives from influential businesses in the region.
