Os números de série são necessários para criar um banco de dados dos componentes na rede. Ao criar uma solicitação de serviço ao Suporte Técnico da Cisco, você deverá ter em mãos os números de série dos dispositivos afetados. O número de série dos switches Cisco Catalyst não pode ser modificado. Para fins de gerenciamento, você pode configurar os Cisco Catalyst Switches que executam o Cisco IOS® software para retornar uma string personalizada. Para criar uma string personalizada, execute o comando snmp-server chassis-id no modo de configuração global.
