雙向轉發檢測是一種檢測協定,旨在為所有媒體型別、封裝、拓撲和路由協定提供快速轉發路徑故障檢測時間。除了快速轉發路徑故障檢測外,BFD還為網路管理員提供了一致的故障檢測方法。由於網路管理員可以使用BFD以統一速率檢測轉發路徑故障,而不是使用不同路由協定hello機制的可變速率來檢測轉發路徑故障,因此網路配置檔案和計畫更容易,並且重新收斂時間一致且可預測。
一對系統在兩個系統之間的每條路徑上週期性地傳送BFD分組,並且如果系統停止接收BFD分組足夠長的時間,則假定到該相鄰系統的該特定雙向路徑中的某些元件已經失敗。在某些情況下,系統可以協商不傳送定期BFD資料包,以便減少開銷。 但是,減少更新數量和頻率可能會影響BFD的靈敏度。
下圖顯示了簡單網路中的BFD建立,其中有兩個路由器配置了OSPF和BFD。當OSPF發現鄰居(1)時,它會向本地BFD進程傳送請求,以啟動與OSPF鄰居路由器(2)的BFD鄰居會話。已建立與OSPF鄰居路由器的BFD鄰居會話(3)。啟用BFD時,其他路由協定也會使用相同的進程。
BFD回應模式-依預設,會啟用回應模式,並以非同步BFD執行。您可以停用該模式,在一端以不對稱執行,或在鄰居關係的兩端執行。回聲資料包由轉發引擎傳送,然後沿著同一路徑轉發回來。 回聲資料包使用介面本身的源地址和目的地址以及目的UDP埠3785進行設定。鄰居將回聲反射回始發方,這會最小化資料包的處理負載,並提高BFD的可能靈敏度。通常,為了減少延遲和CPU負載,不會將回聲轉發到鄰居的控制平面。
BFD非同步模式-非同步模式透過兩個鄰居之間交換控制資料包來跟蹤鄰居的可用性,這需要兩端靜態配置BFD。
BFD關閉日誌消息對於隔離關閉會話至關重要。 可以看到以下幾種不同的原因:
DETECT TIMER EXPIRED -路由器不再接收BFD Keepalive流量並超時。
ECHO FAILURE -路由器不再從另一端接收其BFD響應。

在確認BFD會話關閉的原因和問題的方向性之後,可以開始查明可能的原因:
頻繁的BFD抖動通常是由於鏈路丟失導致BFD控制資料包或回波丟失。 如果有多個不同的會話關閉原因,則這更意味著資料包丟失。

在低速鏈路上,務必注意適當的BFD引數。間隔和最小接收值是以毫秒為單位設定的。如果鄰居之間的延遲達到或接近這些值,則由流量條件引起的正常延遲會觸發BFD抖動。例如,如果鄰居之間的正常端到端延遲為100毫秒,並且BFD間隔設定為最小的50毫秒,乘數為3,則單個丟失的BFD資料包將觸發鄰居關閉事件,因為下一個兩個資料包仍在傳輸中。
您可以透過在兩個鄰居IP地址之間執行簡單ping來驗證到鄰居的延遲。
此外,每個平台支援的最低計時器各不相同,必須在配置BFD之前進行確認。
必須注意的是,如果未啟用BFD嚴格模式,則缺少BFD會話不會阻止建立關聯的路由協定。
這可以在不理想的情況下允許重新收斂。在本示例中,BFD成功解除BGP,但由於TCP通訊仍然成功,鄰居恢復正常。
