最常見的情況是PGW收到來自PCRF的Re-Auth-Request (RAR)以釋放會話。 要瞭解確切的情況，必須收集監控使用者（詳細程度3和多呼叫跟蹤選項）和/或資料包捕獲。 以下是監控使用者跟蹤的一個片段，其中PCRF透過在Session-Release-Cause傳送RAR並帶有UNSPECIFIED_REASON來釋放具有ims-authorization-revoked斷開原因的會話。
根據3GPP 29.212
「如果PCRF由於內部觸發或來自SPR的觸發而決定終止IP CAN會話，則PCRF應向PCEF傳送包括Session-Release-Cause AVP的RAR命令。PCEF應透過向PCRF傳送RAA命令來認可該命令。」
