What are the minimum requirements for using WCCP with Cisco Web Security appliance (WSA)?

The minimum requirement for using WCCP with WSA is:

  • Minimum of two interfaces or sub-interfaces, not secondary addresses, on the network device doing WCCP

Additionally, we do not need any access lists or security passwords in the WCCP configuration on the network device. At a minimum, we only need two commands for WCCP redirection:

  • Global command: ip wccp web-cache
  • Interface level command: On the interface that forwards the client traffic to the Internet --> ip wccp web-cache redirect out
