This preface describes the audience for, organization of, and conventions used in this guide. It also describes related documentation and tells how to access electronic documentation.
This guide is intended for service technicians who have no experience installing routers but whose goal is to connect routers to networks as quickly as possible.
This guide is organized as follows:
•Chapter 1, "Product Overview"—Describes the Cisco 837 and SOHO 97 routers and their features.
•Chapter 2, "Installation"—Provides information on preinstallation, mounting, connecting, and configuring of the router, and verification of router connections.
•Chapter 3, "Troubleshooting"—Describes problems with the router and how to identify and solve them.
•Appendix A, "Specifications and Cables"—Provides Cisco part numbers for cables that you can order and contains port connector pinouts and specifications for cables that you might need to provide.
This section describes the conventions used in this guide.
