Newgen Software, with 3800+ staff in 74 countries, offers a platform for digital transformation, process automation, content services, and communication.
Newgen struggled to identify threats that needed to be prioritized and to get to the root cause of every attack. Being a global provider of a differentiated digital transformation platform with workforce distributed across time zones and locations resulted in increased the risk of endpoint vulnerabilities due to diverse networks and services. Newgen needed to achieve end-to-end protection across networks; endpoints including laptops, workstations, servers, and mobile devices; and also with email and web getaways. To address these hurdles, Newgen deployed Cisco.
The chosen solution architecture comprises Cisco Secure Endpoint and Cisco XDR (to be implemented in the near future). Cisco Secure Endpoint, as a next-generation cloud-managed endpoint security solution, prevents, detects, and responds to threats effectively. It brings together an endpoint protection platform (EPP), endpoint detection and response (EDR), and also offers a comprehensive solution that stops threats with unified defense.
The Cisco CX and Customer Success team took a comprehensive approach, by first trying to understand the business and the changing needs of the business. The team also ensured access to progress continuously in the lifecycle and worked to reduce complexity and knowledge gaps, and to facilitate user adoption.
Regular health checks and personalized 1-1 coaching called Accelerator Sessions helped improve the Secure Endpoint solution even more. Advisory engagements aided in resolving specific obstacles and assisted in adopting Cisco products in ways that enable more value, and use inbuilt capabilities, innovation, and best practices, with the goal to improve resilience, posture, stability, and compliance
As a rapidly growing organization, Newgen needed an absolutely trusted solution for its users. The Cisco Secure Endpoint solution offered the answer, as it holds a comprehensive database of every file that has ever been accessed, and a corresponding good or bad disposition. This ensures malware is quickly quarantined at the point of entry without any processor-intensive scanning. Antiviruses are constantly updated, ensuring that endpoints are always protected. The solution also accompanies machine learning analysis, in-built exploit prevention capabilities, and script protection as well as the ability to detect and respond quickly so that business is never affected.
In the future, Newgen also aims to reduce incident detection and response times with built-in XDR, and to realize more desired outcomes with measured, meaningful metrics for SecOps, ITOps, and NetOps teams. Additional goals include to detect, respond, and recover faster with superior insights and context, and also to accelerate threat investigations and incident management by gathering and correlating global intelligence in a single view. Eventually, impenetrable endpoint security will arm against any sophisticated threat that could occur in today’s hybrid environment.
