The new Cisco EtherSwitch service modules, greatly expand the capabilities of integrated switching within Cisco routers by providing support for new features such as IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE), local Layer 3 switching, Cisco Network Assistant and Cisco Emergency Responder, and Cisco StackWise™ interfaces (available on NME-XD-24-1S-P only), as well as software feature parity with Cisco Catalyst® 3750 Series switches
Cisco EtherSwitch service modules run their own software, independent of the router's Cisco IOS® Software image, allowing for easy upgrades and ongoing software feature parity with Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series switches
* When installed in Cisco 3700 Series routers, the modules can only provide Cisco's pre-standard PoE. The Cisco EtherSwitch service modules do not support any PoE when installed in the Cisco 2691 router.

600 bps, use the AUX port instead.
- Synchronous support with a maximum speed of 2.048 Mbps per
port.
- Supports one port at 8 Mbps when used in NM-1FE1R2W, NM-1FE2W,
NM-2FE2W, or NM-2W, or Cisco 2600 chassis WIC slots. All other
WIC ports on that network module or Cisco 2600 chassis must
not be used.

a minimum of 600 bps. If you need to run at speeds lower than
600 bps, use the AUX port instead.

Multiflex trunk dedicated echo cancellation modules (EC-MFT-32, EC-MFT-64) |
|
Cisco Multiflex Trunk Dedicated Echo Cancellation (MFT ECAN) Modules are dedicated resources for the Cisco Enhanced ITU-T G.168 ECAN feature, providing robust echo cancellation performance for demanding network environments. The modules are daughter cards that attach to Cisco Second-generation Multiflex Trunk Voice/WAN Interface Cards (MFT VWIC2 cards). The dedicated ECAN modules are available in 32- and 64-channel configurations, which match the requirements of the 1- and 2-port T1/E1 MFT VWIC2s, respectively.
* Dedicated Echo Cancellation module is not supported on MFT VWIC2 when MFT VWIC2 is used on the Cisco 1751 or 1760.
** It is possible to install a Cisco 32-Channel MFT Dedicated ECAN Module on a 2-port MFT VWIC2. However, not all voice channels will be able to concurrently use the echo cancellation feature.
*** It is possible to install a Cisco 64-Channel MFT Dedicated ECAN Module on a 1-port MFT VWIC2. However, the extra echo cancellation channels will not be used. The only ports on the MFT VWIC2 that can use the module resources are the ports directly attached to the module. |
