About This Guide

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to physically install and power on the Cisco Prime Network Control System (NCS) appliance.

Details on running the automatic installation script and the required information for that installation script are also provided.

After installation and power on is complete, refer to the following documents for additional information on the Cisco Prime Network Control System appliance:

For detailed software configuration information, refer to the Cisco Prime Network Control System Configuration Guide.

For detailed feature support and compatibility information, refer to the Release Notes for Cisco Prime Network Control System.

To access the NCS documentation, perform the following steps:


Step 1 Browse to http://www.cisco.com.

Step 2 Click Support. A new window appears.

Step 3 Click Wireless under Find Product Support. The Select Your Product or Technology page appears.

Step 4 Enter NCS in the Find field and click Find.

Step 5 Click the Cisco Prime Network Control System Series Appliances link. The Cisco Prime Network Control System Introduction page appears.

Step 6 Choose the appropriate link for the documentation you want to view or download.


Cisco Prime Network Control System Appliance

The Cisco Prime Network Control System Appliance Getting Started Guide contains information and instructions for setting up your Cisco Prime Network Control System appliance and instructions for cabling and configuring the Network Control System (NCS) appliance.

The Cisco Prime Network Control System appliance uses light path diagnostics technology, which provides LEDs to help you diagnose problems. For more information about the light path diagnostics, see Light Path Diagnostics Panel.

For additional diagnostics and troubleshooting information, see the diagnostics and troubleshooting tables (Table 1-3 and Table 1-4).
