New Features for Cisco Smart PHY and Cisco Operations Hub 23.3

Feature Description

Infrastructure Improvements

Auto Deployer User Interface

With this release, you can deploy a Smart PHY and Operations Hub cluster using the Operations Hub Deployer Graphical User Interface(GUI). This method simplifies the process of installation and this method provides an enhanced validation framework. CLI-based installation remains supported.

Configure Time Zone

You can change the time zone of a time stamp to be displayed in the Operations Hub GUI, on demand.

Support for VMware ESXi version 8.0

Installation of VMware ESXi version 8.0 is supported.

Inclusion of Meta Data and robot-cfgsvc pod logs in TAC Debug Packages

TAC debug packages are more descriptive and include metadata information such as created date, file size, created user, and the start and end collection dates entered at the time of creating the packages. TAC debug packages also include robot-cfgsvc pod logs.

RPD Provisioning Enhancements

Push Latitude and Longitude coordinates to cBR-8 routers

You can push latitude and longitude coordinates to all cBR-8 devices running Cisco IOS XE Dublin 17.12.1w or later, during RPD provisioning (for Principal and Aux Cores).

Task Viewer Panel Enhancement

In the Task Viewer Panel, you can click an RPD in either the Queued Tasks tab or Completed Tasks tab to open the RPD Panel. The RPD Panel shows additional information about the selected RPD.

Configuring Device Meta data

Smart PHY maintains and exposes meta data about Device Inventory additions and modifications as well as RPD Association creations and modifications. Inventory meta data can be seen in the Overview tab of the CCAP 360° view and RPD 360° view panels. Association meta data can be seen in the Associations tab of the RPD 360° view panels.

Other Enhancements

RPD Secure Software Upgrade Enhancements

In this release:

  • Smart PHY SSD Profiles support the inclusion of an RPD Model. In previous Smart PHY releases, only the RPD Vendor is supported.

  • Software Compatibility Policies support attaching more than one Smart PHY SSD Profile.

  • The History tab in the Secure Software Download page is enhanced to include more information about each Smart PHY initiated SSD operation.

cBR-8 Configuration Reconciliation Logic Enhancements

Smart PHY’s cBR-8 configuration reconciliation logic has been enhanced to include: Downstream RF Power Adjust values and RPD MAC Address. Additionally, Smart PHY’s reconciliation error handling is improved and new reporting capabilities are added.

Modified Features for Cisco Smart PHY and Cisco Operations Hub 23.3

Feature Description

Cluster Configuration File Updates

With this release:

  • The values for Boolean parameters such as enable-http-redirect and ipv6-mode , must be enclosed in double quotes. The accepted values are "true" or "false" .

  • IPv6 address parameter values must be enclosed in double quotes. For example : "2001:18:208::/64" .

In previous Cisco Smart PHY releases, the usage of double quotes is optional.
