Configure Line Card Redundancy

Below diagrams show the IP/MAC replacement in the LCHA.

Figure 1. IP/MAC replacement

Use following procedure to configure line card redundancy on the Cisco Remote PHY Shelf 7200.

Enable Line Card Redundancy

Plug in RPD line card in slot 6 of the RPHY Shelf 7200 chassis, get ready for the line card switchover.

Perform Line Card Switchover

Before line card switchover, use the following command to check if the active RPD line card is in standby hot.

HA-Shelf-FCC#show redundancy linecard all
     My Peer Peer
Slot State State Slot Role Mode
---------------------------------------------------------
0 Active Standby Hot 6 Active Primary
1 Init Init - - Primary
2 Init Init - - Primary
3 Init Init - - Primary
4 Init Init - - Primary
5 Init Init - - Primary
6 - - Multiple Standby Secondary
7 Init Init - - Primary
8 Init Init - - Primary
9 Init Init - - Primary
10 Init Init - - Primary
11 Init Init - - Primary
12 Active Standby Hot 6 Active Primary

To switchover the line card and reload, use the following steps.

HA-Shelf-FCC#redundancy linecard-group switchover from slot 0
Success

HA-Shelf-FCC#hw-module slot 0 reload

Use the following command to check the RPD line card redundancy status after switchover. In the following example, slot 6 is active, and slot 0 is standby.

HA-Shelf-FCC#show redundancy linecard all
     My Peer Peer
Slot State State Slot Role Mode
---------------------------------------------------------
0 Standby Hot Active 6 Standby Primary
1 Init Init - - Primary
2 Init Init - - Primary
3 Init Init - - Primary
4 Init Init - - Primary
5 Init Init - - Primary
6 Active Standby Hot 0 Active Secondary
7 Init Init - - Primary
8 Init Init - - Primary
9 Init Init - - Primary
10 Init Init - - Primary
11 Init Init - - Primary
12 Active Init - Active Primary

The RPHY Shelf 7200 can be configured to automatically revert back to the primary RPD line card. In the above example, wait for slot 0 to change to standby hot, then reverts to slot 0 automatically via reload after a specified time. To configure the time, use the following command:

HA-Shelf-FCC(config)#redundancy linecard revertive <time>

To disable automatically revertive switchover, use no form of this command.

HA-Shelf-FCC(config)#no redundancy linecard revertive <time>
