Este documento indica cómo configurar una Traducción de dirección de red transversal (NAT-T) entre Clientes Cisco VPN ubicado detrás de un dispositivo de una Traducción de dirección de puerto (PAT)/NAT y un Concentrador remoto de Cisco VPN. La NAT-T se puede utilizar entre los clientes VPN y un concentrador VPN o bien, entre los concentradores detrás de un dispositivo NAT/PAT. Existen clientes VPN en las dos PC (10.10.10.2 y 10.10.10.3) detrás de PIX Firewall. El PIX en este escenario se usa simplemente como un dispositivo de PAT y conduce la PAT en estas direcciones al 171.69.89.78. Aquí se puede utilizar cualquier dispositivo que sea capaz de traducir la dirección de puerto (PAT) de varias conexiones internas. La dirección pública del Concentrador VPN 3000 es 172.16.172.50. El siguiente ejemplo muestra cómo configurar los clientes y el concentrador para que NAT-T se utilice durante la negociación IKE.

Luego de que se completa la negociación de NAT-T, el iniciador puede utilizar cualquier puerto (Y) de Protocolo de datagrama del usuario (UDP) de manera aleatoria. El puerto de destino debe ser UDP 4500, como en UDP (Y, 4500) y el respondedor utiliza UDP (4500, Y). Todas las negociaciones y el cambio de claves de Internet (IKE) posteriores se realizan en estos puertos. Durante las negociaciones NAT-T, ambos pares IPSec negocian los puertos UDP y también determinan si están detrás de un dispositivo NAT/PAT. El par IPSec detrás del dispositivo NAT/PAT envía el paquete de señal de mantenimiento NAT IPSec sobre UDP al par IPSec que no está detrás de un dispositivo NAT/PAT. NAT-T encapsula el tráfico IPSec en datagramas UDP utilizando el puerto 4500 brindando así información del puerto a los dispositivos NAT. NAT - T detecta automáticamente cualquier dispositivo NAT y sólo encapsula el tráfico IPSec cuando es necesario.
Cuando se implementa IPSec sobre la traducción NAT en el concentrador VPN 3000, IPSec sobre TCP tiene prioridad en primer lugar, luego NAT-T y luego IPSec sobre UDP. De forma predeterminada, NAT-T está desactivado. Debe habilitar NAT-T mediante una casilla de verificación ubicada en NAT Transparency (Transparencia NAT), bajo la configuración IPSec ubicada en Tunneling Protocols (Protocolos de tunelización). Además, para un túnel de LAN a LAN, debe activar NAT-T en el campo NAT-T de IPSec para configuraciones de LAN a LAN
Para utilizar NAT-T, debe completar estos pasos:
Abra el puerto 4500 sobre cualquier escudo de protección que haya configurado en frente del concentrador de VPN.
Ajuste nuevamente las configuraciones IPSec/UDP mediante el puerto 4500 a un puerto diferente.
Elija Configuration > Interfaces > Ethernet, y elija la segunda o tercera opciones para el parámetro Fragmentation Policy .
Estas opciones permiten que el tráfico viaje a través de dispositivos NAT que no soportan la fragmentación IP; no impiden el funcionamiento de los dispositivos NAT que admiten la fragmentación IP.

Este ejemplo de configuración presupone que ya se configuró el Concentrador VPN 3000 para conectividad IP y que ya se establecieron las conexiones VPN estándar (no NAT-T).
Para habilitar NAT-T en una versión del concentrador VPN 3000 anterior a la versión 4.1, elija Configuraciones > Sistema > Protocolos de tunelización > IPSec > Transparencia NAT, luego verifique la opción IPSec sobre NAT-T en el concentrador como se muestra en el siguiente ejemplo. La opción NAT-T se encuentra desactivada en forma predeterminada.
Para habilitar NAT-T en un concentrador VPN versión 4.1 y posterior, navegue a la misma ventana de Transparencia NAT eligiendo Configuration > Tunneling and Security > IPSec > NAT Transparency.
Para usar NAT-T, marque Enable Transparent Tunneling (Habilitar tunelización transparente). El siguiente ejemplo lo demuestra en un cliente VPN superior a la versión 4.0.
Nota: La misma opción de configuración está disponible en VPN Client versión 3.x.
En esta sección encontrará información que puede utilizar para confirmar que su configuración esté funcionando correctamente.
La herramienta Output Interpreter (sólo para clientes registrados) permite utilizar algunos comandos “show” y ver un análisis del resultado de estos comandos.

Estos comandos se utilizan para verificar la configuración PIX.
show xlate: como se muestra en el resultado a continuación, el PIX está utilizando diferentes puertos de origen para los dos clientes VPN, pero los puertos de destino son los mismos. Todos los paquetes de datos IPSec se han replegado mediante la utilización de UDP en el puerto 4500. En las negociaciones de nueva codificación posteriores también se utilizan los mismos puertos de origen y de destino.

show arp: utilice este comando para mostrar la tabla del protocolo de resolución de direcciones (ARP) y determinar si se están procesando las solicitudes ARP.

Una vez establecido el túnel VPN, haga clic con el botón derecho del ratón en el bloqueo amarillo y elija Estado. A continuación se muestra una ventana similar. Observe que el puerto del túnel es UDP 4500, lo cual prueba que está utilizando NAT-T.
Complete estos pasos:
En el concentrador VPN, elija Administration > Administrator Session.
La sesión del cliente VPN puede observarse bajo las sesiones de acceso remoto. El siguiente ejemplo muestra las sesiones de los dos clientes después de haber establecido un túnel IPSec al concentrador VPN. Ambos están utilizando la dirección IP pública 171.69.89.78 y se les asignó 40.1.1.1 y 40.1.1.2, respectivamente.
Haga doble clic sobre el nombre de usuario de un cliente.
Se muestran las estadísticas IPSec/IKE, como se observa en el siguiente ejemplo. El puerto de origen UDP usado por el cliente es el 1029 y el puerto de destino usado es el 4500.

NAT-T encapsula tráfico IPSec en datagramas UDP por medio del puerto 4500. Si NAT-T no se verifica en el VPN Concentrator o si la transparencia NAT no se verifica en el VPN Client, se establece el túnel IPSec; sin embargo, no puede pasar ningún dato. Para que el NAT funcione, se debe verificar el NAT-T en el concentrador y la transparencia (en el UDP) en el cliente.
El ejemplo a continuación muestra un caso en el que NAT-T no fue verificada en el concentrador. En el cliente, se verificó la tunelización transparente. En este caso, se establece el túnel IPSec entre el cliente y el concentrador. No obstante, dado que fallaron las negociaciones de puerto del túnel IPSec, no pasan datos entre el cliente y el concentrador. Como resultado, los bytes transmitidos y recibidos son cero para las sesiones de acceso remoto.
El ejemplo a continuación muestra las estadísticas del VPN Client. Observe que el puerto de túnel negociado es 0. Existe un intento de hacer ping en 192.168.2.251 (interfaz privada del concentrador VPN 3000) y a 172.16.172.50 desde el indicador de DOS. Sin embargo, estos pings fallan porque ningún túnel del puerto ha sido negociado y, así, los datos IPSec se descartan en el servidor VPN remoto.
El siguiente ejemplo muestra que el VPN Client está enviando datos cifrados (13 paquetes). Pero la cantidad de paquetes desencripcións es cero para el servidor VPN remoto y no ha devuelto datos encripcións. Dado que no se ha negociado ningún puerto de túnel, el servidor VPN remoto descarta los paquetes y no envía ningún dato de respuesta.
