PAC Menu Options

This appendix defines the menu items in the PAC and the Web Planning and Reporting applications. Some PAC menus and options vary from one Toolset to another and are listed under the respective Toolset headings. Other PAC menus remain constant regardless of the Toolset in which they appear; these are listed under the "Common Menus" section.

PAC Menus

Common Menus

File menu options vary slightly based on the active PAC Toolset, and the View, Setup, Toolset, and Help menus contain the same options in each Toolset.

File Menu

The File menu provides options for printing windows and for performing general Cisco WAPMS functions. It is available in the Event Processor, Troubleshooting, Traffic Capture, and Conversations Toolsets. In the Conversations Toolset, it only has the Open, Save As, and Close options. The File menu options are described in Table A-1.

Table A-1 PAC File Menu Items

Menu Option
Action

Open

(Traffic Capture and Conversations Toolsets) Open traffic capture .cap or conversations .cov data files.

Save As

(Event Processor) Saves a detailed description of all network events reported to the PAC in the last two weeks.

(Traffic Capture) Saves captured data in the .cap format. See the "Saving and Retrieving Packet Traces" section.

(Conversations) Saves conversations data in the .cov or .csv format. See the "Saving Conversations to Data Files" section.

Close

Terminates the current Toolset but keeps the PAC session running. Not available for the Event Processor Toolset.

Print

(Event Processor) Prints a detailed description of all or selected network events reported to the PAC over the last two weeks.

Print Setup

Opens the Windows Print window so you can specify printing options.

ASE Inventory

Performs an inventory of the ASEs associated with a particular network in the network database. Use ASE inventory to check the connectivity of ASEs in the network or to access information required when contacting your vendor's technical support. See the "Performing an ASE Inventory on the PAC" section.

Update ASE Software

Updates the software in your ASE when updates are released by Cisco Systems. See the "Updating ASE Software on the PAC" section.

Collect Data Now

Collects ASE data now instead of waiting for the scheduled data collection time. See the "Collecting ASE Data on the PAC" section

Identify ASE

Notifies the PAC of all SNMP MIB variable locations for selected ASEs. See the "Managing ASEs" section.

Exit

Terminates the PAC session.

View Menu

Use the View menu to customize the appearance of your Cisco WAPMS window. The View menu is available in the Event Processor, Troubleshooting, Traffic Capture, and Conversations Toolsets. In the Conversations Toolset however, the menu has only the Conversations Toolbar option. The View menu options are described in Table A-2.

Logs you out of a domain while keeping the PAC open. You have access to limited PAC functions, including log on.

Toolset Menu

Use the Toolset menu to launch any available PAC Toolset by choosing its corresponding menu option. The Toolset menu is especially useful when you have the Toolset Selector hidden. It is available from all PAC Toolsets. Toolset menu options are: Event Processor, Troubleshooting, Traffic Capture, Conversations, and Planning and Reporting.

To open the Network Configuration Toolset, see the "Setup Menu" section.
