Product Description
The existing non-CUPS SAEGW service is reused to provide Control Plane functionality for Sxa, Sxb, and Sxab (combined Sxa and Sxb) interfaces. The differences are:
-
The respective EGTPC services of P-GW and S-GW are not associated with GTP-U service.
-
Sx service, which is the interface toward the User Plane, is associated with the SAEGW service.
-
The GTP-U service is associated with an SAEGW service for receiving GTP-U packets (for Router Advertisement/Router Solicitation or any data buffering required at Control Plane).
Sx Interface
As part of the CUPS architecture, the Sx interface is used for communication between Control Plane and User Plane.
At Control Plane, the SAE-GW service is associated with Sx service for communication with the User Plane. Also, a single Sx service is capable of handling all interfaces like Sxa, Sxb, and Sxab, which is required for Pure-S, Pure-P and Collapsed PDN respectively.
