Cisco Spaces Dashboard

The following new feature is introduced in the Cisco Spaces dashboard:

Cisco Spaces now introduces Split License support for the Engagements, Location Personas, Space Manager, and Space Experience applications. With this license change, you'll gain access to experience higher-tier license features in these apps.

Note

The Split License feature is available only for accounts registered with the Cisco Smart Software Manager (CSSM) system and integrated with Cisco Spaces account by registering the Smart Licensing token with the Cisco Spaces dashboard. If your account is not registered with CSSM, we recommend reaching out to your account administrator.

Cisco Smart Workspaces App: Signage Release 1.2

The following new features are introduced in the Cisco Smart Workspaces app:

• Select all Space Types/Point of Interests (POIs): Tap on any room to display the room name and recenter it on the map.

• Search for all Spaces (without Collaboration devices): Search and locate rooms and other POIs effortlessly.

• Edit Space Names: Modify space names in the Digital Maps editor (Setup > Locations & Maps > Digital Maps editor) for better search results. For example, to differentiate between various POI types such as cafeteria, restrooms, stairs, and so on.

Feature Flag for Wayfinding Locations (Early Feature Testing/Limited Availability)

• Select all Space Types/POIs: Navigate or get directions by selecting any space type or POIs on the map.

• Pathfinding to all Space Types/POIs: Draw a path from the Where Am I? orientation to a space on the same floor, and now even to rooms without collaboration devices.

• Wayfinding to all Space Types/POIs: Paired with pathfinding, scan QR codes on all spaces on all floors to get multi-floor turn-by-turn directions and blue-dot wayfinding.

• Where Am I? Orientation updates: Includes optimal path angles and zoom option to improve orientation and visibility.

For Smart Rooms ((Early Feature Testing)

Use the Smart Room Marker and Label feature to effortlessly discover, select, and navigate to a smart room using the Smart Room Marker available on the map for the Kiosk or Signage version 1.2.

Digital Maps: User Experience Enhancements

The following enhancements are made in the Cisco Spaces dashboard:

• Map Processing Status Reporting with Estimated Time and Email Notifications: Map Processing feature is enhanced to address the issues reported with time-intensive map generation. With this enhancement, after you successfully submit the map, the window is displayed with an estimated processing time. You can also view the processing status, including a tentative ETA or error details, by hovering over the status message for each building in the Digital Maps list view. Additionally, the submitter receives email notifications regarding any changes in the map status.

• Re-Processing Maps/Re-submission of CAD Files: The map re-processing experience is enhanced to include a feature that allows you to specify the exact changes needed. This helps to reduce the turnaround time. You can select from a list of common reasons and provide additional comments, along with any supporting documents or images as evidence for the re-processing request.

  STANDARD Maps (BETA): The beta version of STANDARD Digital Maps (with a beta watermark) has been introduced in Cisco Spaces. The STANDARD maps gets generated more quickly compared to the PRO version but with fewer features, thus supporting a limited range of use cases.

  You might notice that the orientation and positioning of STANDARD maps may not always align perfectly with the actual building position on the earth map. We recommend that you adjust the position and orientation of STANDARD maps using the tools available in the Standard Map preview.

  Note

  The PRO maps are exclusively available to locations with ACT or UNLIMITED licenses, while STANDARD maps are accessible for locations with SEE or Extend licenses. You can use the STANDARD version of the map for device placement. For locations with ACT or UNLIMITED licenses, use the STANDARD map until the PRO version is fully generated.

Cisco Smart Workspaces App: Signage Release 1.2

The following enhancements are made in the Cisco Smart Workspaces app:

• Idle Timeout Behavior: The map re-centers automatically after four minutes of inactivity, improving the user experience for the next user

• New Room Markers: Enhances the room discoverability and legibility.

• Where Am I? Orientation updates: Enhanced feature to navigate to the Kiosk location on the map from any floor.
