What's New in this Release

The following feature is introduced in Cisco Spaces:

Cisco Spaces Dashboard

In Cisco Spaces, Split License feature allows you to upgrade licenses at the location level.

You can upgrade location-level license to higher tiers (ACT or Unlimited), regardless of the account-level license being at a lower tier, for example: SEE, EXTEND, SMART OPS, and SMART VENUES. This flexibility extends to the floor level within the Location Hierarchy. Use the License Level Change option available in the Location Hierarchy (Beta UI) to upgrade the license type.

Cisco Spaces now introduces split license support for the Location Analytics and the RightNow application.

This upgrade allows you to experience higher-tier license features in Location Analytics app and also in the Density Rule feature in RighNow application.

Note

The Split License feature is supported only if the account is registered with the Cisco Smart Software Manager (CSSM) system. We recommend that you contact the account administrator if your account is not registered with CSSM.

What's Changed in this Release

The following enhancements are made in the Cisco Spaces dashboard:

Improved OTP Generation for Mobile Number-Based Authentication

In Cisco Spaces: Captive Portal, the One Time Passcode (OTP) generation for mobile number-based authentication is updated to accommodate lengths ranging from four to nine digits, replacing the previous fixed 4-digit length.

We recommend that you contact the Cisco Spaces support team to configure the preferred OTP length.

Room Occupancy Reports

Cisco Spaces: Space Manager is enhanced to include sensor types such as Passive Infra-Red (PIR) sensors (wired or wireless) and Portal Beam sensors, in addition to the existing Webex sensor type.

If you want to include PIR or Portal Beam sensors details in the occupancy reports, you must associate the respective sensor as the default sensor device.

Note

In the Cisco Spaces: Space Manager app, under Space Management > Occupancy area, from the Select Sensor drop-down list, choose the PIR or Portal Beam sensors to set the default sensor device.

OpenRoaming Hotspot Client Enhancement

The Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) support is available from Hotspot client version v2.2.95. However, the Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers require a minimum version of 17.12 to utilize NETCONF. We recommend that you upgrade to Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers version 17.12 to take advantage of NETCONF features.
